Occupational Therapist School Setting - Hanford, CA
Make a difference supporting students from transitional kindergarten through sixth grade in a rewarding contract role. This opportunity allows you to leverage your occupational therapy expertise in a school-based setting, working with a small caseload of approximately 12 students. Your skills in school OT, home health OT, healthcare-based OT, and teletherapy will be highly valued as you help students achieve their fullest potential.
Your focus will include developing and implementing individualized therapy plans, providing direct and consultative therapy services, and collaborating with teachers and families. The assignment spans from August 12, 2026, through June 4, 2027, with a manageable schedule of 8-10 hours per week, allowing you to balance this position with other commitments or interests.
Qualifications:
- Current California Occupational Therapy (OT) License
- Experience in school-based OT, home health, healthcare-related OT, or teletherapy settings preferred
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with staff, students, and families
- Strong documentation and communication abilities
- Comfortable working with students from TK through 6th grade
Responsibilities:
- Assess and evaluate students’ needs within the educational environment
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Provide direct OT services and collaborate on virtual or in-person sessions as needed
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting interventions as necessary
- Communicate regularly with teachers, support staff, and families to best support each child
