Occupational Therapist School Setting in Harrisburg, PA

Your expertise in school-based OT will play a vital role in assessing student needs, developing and implementing individualized therapy plans, and evaluating progress over time. You’ll work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure every student receives the support necessary for their growth and achievement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct occupational therapy evaluations, both formal and informal, for students referred by educators or parents
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized intervention plans in accordance with IEPs and federal/state regulations
- Provide direct therapy and consultative services in classroom and individual settings
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other support staff to create accessible learning environments
- Maintain detailed records, progress notes, and required documentation
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
- Offer training and resources for school staff on adaptive strategies and tools for student success
Qualifications:
- Valid and current Occupational Therapist license in Pennsylvania
- Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution
- Previous experience working with school-aged children in educational settings preferred
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to adapt interventions to meet diverse student needs
- Understanding of IDEA, Section 504, and best practices in school-based therapy
