School Occupational Therapist | Hayward, California
Bring your expertise as a school-based Occupational Therapist to a dynamic educational setting near Hayward, CA. The role begins as soon as possible and extends through mid-March 2027, providing a stable and rewarding experience.
You’ll collaborate with educators and other specialists to help students reach their potential in both academic and everyday activities. With a manageable caseload of approximately 52-58 students and a consistent 40-hour workweek, you’ll be able to provide focused, quality care to those who need it most.
What you’ll need:
- Active Occupational Therapist (OT) license for California
- Prior experience in a school-based OT setting preferred
- Solid understanding of IEPs, progress tracking, and OT best practices for children and adolescents
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
- Ability to adapt strategies to meet students’ diverse needs
Your responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to a caseload of up to 58 school-aged students
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized treatment plans and goals
- Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate closely with staff and families
- Document progress and maintain accurate, up-to-date records in compliance with school and state requirements
- Consult with teachers and staff on student needs and accommodations
- Provide both direct and consultative OT interventions within the school environment
