As part of a collaborative evaluation team, you'll provide specialized services for an early childhood caseload across multiple sites, benefiting from robust support and guidance from an experienced Early Intervention team. The itinerant nature of this role allows for varied experiences as you travel within the program to meet the diverse needs of students.
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Valid Occupational Therapy license for Oregon (or eligibility for licensure)
- Experience in school-based OT, especially within early childhood or early intervention settings
- Strong evaluation and assessment skills relevant to OT in schools
- Ability to excel in a team-oriented environment, engaging with educators, families, and other specialists
- Flexibility, time management, and adaptability as you travel to different locations
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn best practices in early intervention
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting screenings, assessments, and ongoing therapy for children in the EI program
- Collaborating closely with an interdisciplinary evaluation team
- Implementing effective intervention plans tailored to individual developmental needs
- Documenting progress and maintaining compliance with program and state requirements
- Supporting families and educational staff with strategies to foster student progress
- Managing a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week as an itinerant OT
