Step into an impactful role supporting students’ growth and development as an Occupational Therapist on a contract assignment for the 2026-2027 school year. This position runs from August 4, 2026 through May 28, 2027, with a weekly schedule of 37.5 hours. Serving PreK-12th grade students with caseloads typically ranging from 45 to 50, you’ll use your expertise to help learners thrive both inside and outside the classroom.
Ideal candidates bring strong clinical experience across educational, home health, and healthcare settings and are skilled in adapting interventions for diverse student needs.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in South Carolina (or eligibility to obtain)
- Experience with pediatric caseloads, preferably in school-based and/or home health environments
- Proficiency with documentation, IEP processes, and collaborative multidisciplinary teamwork
- Strong communication skills with students, staff, and families
- Creative problem-solving and the ability to tailor interventions for a variety of developmental stages
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative OT services to students in PreK through 12th grade
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to create and implement individualized treatment plans
- Conduct assessments, write progress reports, and actively participate in IEP meetings
- Provide training and resources to school community members on best practices for accommodations and modifications
- Monitor and adjust therapy strategies to ensure maximum student progress
