Occupational Therapist School Setting in Irvine, CA
An exciting contract opportunity awaits experienced Occupational Therapists eager to make an impact in a dynamic school environment. Two full-time Occupational Therapy professionals are needed to support students across a well-established district, serving campuses in the San Juan Capistrano area, with specific needs in the San Clemente and Mission Viejo areas. Flexibility is available for those seeking part-time arrangements.
Beginning as soon as possible and extending through June 3, 2027, this role is ideal for clinicians comfortable working as itinerant therapists and providing services to a diverse population spanning PreK through age 22. The district is entering a period of transition, and therapists who thrive amidst change and can adapt quickly will find this an engaging fit.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy
- Active California Occupational Therapy licensure
- Prior experience in school-based settings (preferred)
- Comfortable serving a wide age range (PreK–22 years)
- Willingness to travel between multiple school sites
- Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills
- No COTAs—fully licensed OTs only
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individually tailored OT assessments and interventions
- Work closely with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support students’ educational access and success
- Maintain detailed records in alignment with district policies
- Participate in IEP meetings, consultations, and collaborative planning
- Serve as a resource during ongoing district changes and offer professional adaptability
This position requires on-site presence and offers the chance to quickly become an integral part of a supportive educational community. With a consistent schedule of five days per week but openness to part-time if preferred, the role is designed for immediate engagement and professional growth.
