Key Qualifications:
- Current New Hampshire Occupational Therapist license required
- Experience working in school settings, especially with diverse student populations
- Familiarity with 1:1 therapy, preferably in hospital, residential, or specialized environments
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with hospital staff and other professionals
- Ability to provide creative, student-centered therapy, adapting strategies as needs evolve
- Flexibility and patience to support students who are new to services and require gradual introduction to OT
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized OT services to a male student at a residential hospital, adhering to IEP goals and best practices
- Coordinate directly with hospital staff to schedule and tailor sessions that fit the student's evolving needs
- Begin sessions within small, manageable time frames, progressing based on the student's comfort and responsiveness
- Maintain thorough documentation of progress, adapting plans as necessary
- Demonstrate professionalism, discretion, and empathy when working with a sensitive population
Work Schedule:
- Sessions on Mondays and Fridays between 8:15 am and 2:30/3:00 pm, with flexibility as determined by student and facility needs
