Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a school-based Occupational Therapist in the Chesterfield area. This full-time position spans the 2026-2027 academic year, from July 22, 2026, through May 28, 2027, providing consistent weekly hours, Monday through Friday (37-40 hours/week). You'll deliver crucial occupational therapy services to a diverse caseload of students ranging from 3K through 12th grade, addressing various ability levels across several nearby attendance areas.
Key Qualifications:
- Current Occupational Therapy license (or eligibility) in South Carolina
- Previous experience in school settings is strongly preferred
- Familiarity with IEP development and documentation
- Skilled in assessment, screening, and intervention for school-aged children
- Strong collaboration and communication abilities with multidisciplinary teams
- Adaptable to working at multiple school sites, as travel between the surrounding communities may be needed
- Dedication to fostering student growth and independence in educational environments
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct occupational therapy screenings and comprehensive evaluations tailored to student needs
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with educators, families, and other service providers for holistic student support
- Provide direct and consultative OT services, both one-on-one and in group settings
- Document progress and complete all required reports in alignment with school and federal guidelines
- Adapt therapeutic interventions to diverse educational settings and ability levels
- Serve as a resource for staff and families regarding occupational therapy best practices
