Occupational Therapist School Setting - Joliet, IL
Make a meaningful impact in students’ lives and foster their growth as a contract Occupational Therapist working with K-6 learners. This exciting part-time opportunity is available for a skilled and dedicated practitioner, providing services across three days each week through the end of the 2026-2027 school year. You’ll collaborate with educators and families near Joliet, IL to deliver tailored interventions that help students build essential skills for their academic and personal success.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid IL Occupational Therapist License
- Demonstrated recent experience in an educational (school-based) setting
- Expertise in assessment and therapeutic intervention for school-aged children
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Passion for nurturing student independence and participation in classroom routines
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for students in kindergarten through grade six
- Deliver evidence-based occupational therapy sessions, both individually and in small groups
- Consult with teachers, staff, and families to support each child’s goals within the academic environment
- Maintain up-to-date documentation on progress and compliance with state/federal regulations
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute insights to multidisciplinary teams
- Adapt therapy practices to align with students’ varying needs and classroom demands
