Qualifications & Skills:
- Active Michigan Occupational Therapist license (required)
- Previous experience in a school-based setting is highly desirable
- Familiarity with the needs of elementary, middle, and high school student populations
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt therapy plans for varying age groups and individual student needs
- Collaborative approach to working with educators, parents, and support staff
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to students within elementary, middle, and high school settings
- Conduct assessments to determine students' unique needs and develop individualized intervention plans
- Support student engagement in learning through adaptive strategies and accommodation planning
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and school staff to ensure integrated support for each student
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting intervention strategies as needed
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary team discussions
