Step into a key supportive role as an Occupational Therapist, providing specialized services to a young student in a residential hospital setting. This contract position offers a unique opportunity to positively impact an out-of-district male student who is new to occupational therapy. You’ll be leading Extended School Year (ESY) services, with potential to carry your expertise into the following academic year.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Licensed Occupational Therapist in New Hampshire
- Previous experience working in school-based or pediatric settings preferred
- Skilled in adapting strategies for students new to services
- Able to deliver individualized, 1:1 therapy sessions
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for coordinating with interdisciplinary teams
Your Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and develop goal-oriented treatment plans for the student
- Implement therapeutic activities tailored to the student’s unique needs, starting with gradual session duration increases as tolerance builds
- Collaborate closely with hospital staff and educational teams to ensure continuity of care
- Maintain accurate documentation of progress and communicate updates to all stakeholders
- Flexibly schedule sessions, primarily on Mondays and Fridays, between 8:15 and 3:00 PM, aligning with hospital and student needs
