An exciting contract opportunity awaits an experienced Occupational Therapist eager to support a vibrant learning community near Kenner, LA. This full-time, onsite position focuses on students in PreK through 8th grade, emphasizing collaborative and holistic care. Serving at a dynamic academy environment, you’ll find your office shared with a Physical Therapist and an Adaptive Physical Education professional, further enhancing interdisciplinary teamwork. Additionally, a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant is available one day per week for added support.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive occupational therapy services to PreK-8th grade students in a school setting
- Evaluate student needs and develop individualized treatment plans to support access to the curriculum
- Collaborate with other therapists, educators, and support staff to implement intervention strategies
- Maintain clear documentation and timely progress reports in accordance with school and regulatory standards
- Provide consultation and resources to school teams and families to facilitate student success
- Participate in IEP meetings, contribute expertise, and help set realistic goals
- Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere that encourages student growth and self-advocacy
Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in Louisiana
- Prior experience in a school-based OT role strongly preferred
- Knowledge of best practices for pediatric occupational therapy
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Compassionate, energetic, and student-focused approach
