This full-time role is based at a thriving school setting near Kenner, LA, providing specialized support to help children succeed academically and developmentally. Collaborate closely with a Physical Therapist and Adapted Physical Education professional in a shared office space, fostering a supportive and multidisciplinary environment. One day each week, you'll also have the assistance of a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to help manage your caseload.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapist (OT) licensure required
- Previous experience in school-based or pediatric occupational therapy preferred
- Ability to manage and prioritize caseloads of students from PreK through 8th grade
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Organizational skills to document services and track student progress effectively
Role Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, plan, and implement individualized occupational therapy interventions for students
- Develop goals and adapt activities to encourage student participation and achievement
- Communicate regularly with teachers, parents, and team members to support educational objectives
- Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with school and regulatory standards
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to review and adjust student therapy plans as needed
