A contract opportunity is available for an Occupational Therapist to support PreK–8th grade students in a collaborative, enriching environment. You’ll work full-time onsite alongside other dedicated therapy professionals, including a PT and an APE, and benefit from COTA assistance once a week. The role is set in a supportive academy where you’ll help students develop the skills they need to achieve both academic and personal success.
Qualifications:
- Current Occupational Therapist (OT) licensure in Louisiana
- Experience with school-aged students, ideally across PreK–8th grade
- Strong communication and organization skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, other therapists, and support staff
- Commitment to creating individualized treatment plans tailored to each student’s needs
- Flexibility and adaptability in a diverse school environment
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to PreK–8th grade students in an academic setting
- Assess students to identify needs, set goals, and develop individualized treatment interventions
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and required documentation for student progress
- Work closely with teachers, families, and other support professionals to integrate therapy into the classroom experience
- Consult and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including a shared office with PT and APE professionals
- Supervise or coordinate with a COTA one day per week to maximize student outcomes
