Discover an exciting contract opportunity for a dedicated Occupational Therapist to support students ages 5-22. This full-time role spans 6-8 weeks starting June 15th, 2026, with a consistent Monday through Friday schedule from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM. You'll work closely with a diverse student population and help shape positive educational experiences for individuals with various needs, including those with severe behavioral challenges.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapist (OT) license in California
- Previous experience in school-based settings, ideally working with ages 5-22
- Familiarity with adaptive equipment, fine and gross motor skill development, and sensory integration
- Preferred background working with students exhibiting severe behaviors
- Strong communication, teamwork, and documentation skills
- Ability to develop tailored intervention strategies and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
What You’ll Do:
- Assess students’ needs and develop individualized OT treatment plans that support IEP goals
- Work with students one-on-one and in small groups to address motor, sensory, and self-regulation skills
- Consult with teachers, support staff, and families to implement effective strategies within the classroom
- Participate in IEP meetings, contributing OT expertise to discussion and planning
- Track student progress and maintain accurate records in accordance with school and state guidelines
- Provide staff training and support as needed, especially regarding the safe handling of severe behaviors
