School Occupational Therapist | Los Angeles, California
Embark on a rewarding opportunity supporting elementary students as a full-time contract Occupational Therapist. Located near vibrant Los Angeles, this role is ideal for a dedicated OT seeking to make a daily impact on young learners in a school setting.
Your expertise will ensure that students receive the occupational therapy interventions they need to thrive both academically and socially. You’ll collaborate closely with educators and families, addressing students’ unique needs and promoting independence within the school environment.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Current Occupational Therapist license in California
• Minimum of 2 years of recent, school-based OT experience
• Proven success working with elementary-aged children
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Familiarity with IEP processes and documentation
• Ability to develop customized treatment plans based on student evaluations
• Passion for fostering growth and independence in young learners
Key Responsibilities:
• Assess students' functional skills and develop tailored goals
• Provide direct therapy services to elementary caseload
• Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support students' success
• Contribute to IEP meetings and maintain thorough, compliant documentation
• Conduct ongoing evaluations and adapt interventions as needed
• Participate in school-based activities and team meetings
• Advocate for students’ needs within the broader school community
