School Occupational Therapist | Madison, Tennessee
Step into an impactful role where you’ll bring your expertise as a licensed Occupational Therapist to make a difference in students’ lives. A contract opportunity is now available supporting a diverse student caseload in a dynamic school setting near Madison, TN. You will play a crucial role in helping students develop the skills necessary for school success, all while collaborating with a team-oriented community of professionals.
Your responsibilities will encompass direct therapy services, evaluation and documentation, as well as the oversight of three Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) across the district. Some travel between school sites is expected, offering you variety throughout your week. The position begins as soon as possible and continues through May 27th, 2027, with a consistent schedule of 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Your commitment and skills will directly support the growth and development of up to 120 students during your assignment.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Current Occupational Therapist license in Tennessee (required).
- Professional experience in educational or pediatric settings, preferably in schools.
- Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to oversee and collaborate with COTAs effectively.
- Capability to manage a large caseload and adapt to multiple school environments.
- Reliable transportation for traveling between schools.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Deliver occupational therapy interventions to meet students’ educational needs.
- Supervise and mentor COTAs assigned in the district.
- Maintain accurate documentation in line with school and district policies.
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and other support staff.
- Engage in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to IEP development.
