An exciting opportunity awaits for a dedicated Occupational Therapist to support students from PreK through 8th grade in a dynamic school-based setting near Metairie, LA. This contract, full-time position runs from August 10, 2026, through May 20, 2026, with a consistent weekday schedule from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. You'll work onsite and share an office with a passionate PT and APE, and benefit from the assistance of a COTA one day a week.
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
- Active Occupational Therapy license required
- Experience in school-based settings with grades PreK-8th preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to adapt to varying student needs and classroom environments
- Enthusiasm for supporting student growth and functional skill development
- Proficiency in documenting treatment data and progress notes
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide OT services for a diverse caseload of PreK-8th grade students
- Conduct evaluations, develop individualized plans of care, and implement evidence-based interventions
- Collaborate regularly with classroom teachers, special education staff, and related service providers
- Educate and coordinate with families on student strategies to support carryover of skills at home
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in compliance with school and licensing requirements
- Consult with a COTA and interdisciplinary team to maximize student outcomes
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary planning
