School Occupational Therapist | Mission Viejo, California
Make an immediate impact supporting students and staff in a dynamic school environment as an Occupational Therapist for a contract opportunity beginning as soon as possible and extending through April. This position covers a leave of absence and requires an adaptable professional able to step into a well-established program in the San Juan Capistrano area. Providing vital services to Marblehead Elementary School, you will work with a diverse student population and collaborate with a dedicated educational team. Both full-time (five days a week) and part-time candidates will be considered.
Key Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy
- Active California OT license (required)
- Previous experience in a school-based OT setting
- Comfortable managing an elementary-age caseload
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with changing needs
- Commitment to delivering assessments, interventions, and documentation in a timely manner
- Please note: No COTAs will be considered for this position
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans for students with a variety of needs
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to support students’ academic and functional independence
- Collaborate closely with teachers, staff, and families to ensure holistic support
- Maintain thorough and compliant documentation of services and progress
- Participate in IEP meetings and interdisciplinary teams as required
- Respond quickly to shifting priorities as school board changes may affect program direction
