Step into a dynamic and rewarding role supporting the needs of diverse learners aged 3 to 22, spanning PreK through adult transition programs. This contract opportunity is ideal for experienced Occupational Therapists who thrive in independent, fast-paced school settings and are passionate about making a measurable impact across multiple campuses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive occupational therapy services to students with mild to severe disabilities, addressing both individual and group needs across six school sites.
- Administer assessments such as the BOT 3 and Peabody for students ages 3-22 with various disabilities, ensuring relevant, data-driven recommendations for services.
- Manage a fluctuating caseload of approximately 70-80 students, adapting to evolving district and student needs.
- Engage in regular consultation with teachers and families, using assessment data to address concerns and advocate for appropriate supports.
- Create and maintain your own schedule to align with district priorities, functioning autonomously with little on-site supervision.
- Deliver services to a wide range of students, including those in K-12 and adult transition programs.
- Complete required documentation, progress notes, and communicate findings effectively to all stakeholders.
Desired Qualifications:
- Current and active California Occupational Therapy license.
- Prior experience working in California school systems, specifically supporting students with disabilities.
- Proficiency and recent experience administering the BOT 3 and Peabody assessments.
- Strong organizational, self-motivation, and time management skills for independent fieldwork.
- Ability to use assessment data to support recommendations and address family concerns.
- Bilingual Spanish skills are a plus, but not required.
- Must be comfortable working independently and covering multiple school locations; this is not a position for OTAs.
