Occupational Therapist School Setting in Murrieta, CA
Make a difference by supporting students’ growth and independence in a dynamic, school-based occupational therapy role. In this contract position, you’ll work 3 days a week—totaling about 22.5 to 24 hours—serving a diverse caseload of 34 students, with additional evaluations pending. Your primary focus will be on elementary and middle school students, though responsibilities will extend across KN–11/12. You’ll play a key role in helping students with Autism, Specific Learning Disability, and Other Health Impairment thrive both academically and personally.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapy licensure in California.
- Previous experience in a school-based OT setting strongly preferred.
- Understanding of IEP development and compliance.
- Background working with students diagnosed with Autism, SLD, or OHI is desirable.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, families, and educators.
- Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
Main Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct, hands-on occupational therapy interventions to students as outlined in their IEPs.
- Conduct assessments and evaluations, participate in eligibility determination, and document findings.
- Ensure compliance with all aspects of student IEPs, including progress monitoring and timely reporting.
- Consult and collaborate with school staff and parents to develop appropriate supports and accommodations.
- Maintain accurate, detailed records and contribute to data-driven team discussions.
This role requires a fully on-site presence; virtual or hybrid options are not available due to the interactive, hands-on nature of therapy in the school environment.
