Step into a rewarding contract position supporting students’ growth and independence within a collaborative school environment near Muskegon, MI. This role spans multiple sites servicing students from preschool through eighth grade, focusing primarily on children with moderate cognitive impairments or Autism, including those in specialized regional programs and resource rooms.
Your day will run from 8:00 AM – 3:45 PM, Monday through Friday, offering you a consistent schedule across a full workweek. As you provide essential occupational therapy support, comprehensive mileage reimbursement will be available to cover travel between classrooms and sites.
Key Qualifications:
- Current license (or eligibility) as an Occupational Therapist
- Experience or strong interest in school-based occupational therapy
- Understanding of needs for students with moderate cognitive impairments and Autism preferred
- Familiarity with documentation and Medicaid billing systems (EdPlan experience a plus)
- Ability to work effectively across age groups from preschool through middle school
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group occupational therapy services to a diverse caseload of about 49 students
- Support students’ functional, sensory, and adaptive skills in resource rooms and specialized classrooms
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation and Medicaid billing using EdPlan
- Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with teachers, families, and other specialists
- Contribute to a positive and supportive learning atmosphere for all students
