Step into a rewarding role supporting young learners as an Occupational Therapist working in a vibrant school environment near New Lenox, IL. This onsite contract opportunity is scheduled from January 25, 2027, to March 12, 2027, offering a schedule of 33.75 hours per week. You’ll engage with a diverse caseload of 52 students, mainly in 1st-3rd grade, including service to one of the self-contained cross-categorical programs with a range of needs from mild to severe, and also provide support to 4th-6th graders, whose needs primarily fall within the mild to moderate range.
What You Bring:
- Active Illinois Occupational Therapist License
- Prior experience in a school-based or pediatric setting strongly preferred
- Ability to develop IEP goals and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams
- Strong communication and organization skills
- Familiarity with addressing a variety of student needs, from mild to severe
- Compliance with all district and state-specific requirements for school OTs
Your Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct OT services tailored to individual student goals
- Evaluate student progress and document outcomes effectively
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide expert input for students’ educational planning
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to implement therapeutic strategies in the classroom
- Maintain accurate records in accordance with school and state policies
