This is a full-time contract position engaging with a diverse PreK–8th grade caseload in a vibrant school environment. You will work onsite, collaborating with a Physical Therapist and Adapted Physical Education specialist in a shared office, while also receiving weekly assistance from a COTA. This collaborative atmosphere fosters a supportive professional community focused on student success.
Qualifications:
- Hold active Occupational Therapy licensure in Louisiana
- Experience in pediatric or school-based settings is strongly preferred
- Comfortable managing caseloads across a broad age range (PreK–8th grade)
- Skilled at collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including PTs, APEs, and COTAs
- Strong communication and organizational abilities
- Committed to fostering an inclusive and positive learning environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for students with varied needs
- Work directly with students onsite to support their educational and functional goals
- Document progress and communicate regularly with teachers, parents, and team members
- Adapt interventions as needed to maximize student participation and achievement
- Consult and collaborate with educators and staff on best practices and accommodations
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide expert guidance related to OT services
