Occupational Therapist School Setting in Newport, NH
A rewarding opportunity is available for a skilled Occupational Therapist to support students outside of regular school hours on a flexible, part-time contract. The position focuses on delivering specially-designed instruction and related services according to students’ IEPs for the 2026-27 school year, with assignments potentially beginning as soon as possible and continuing through June 18, 2027. Services may be provided on-site or remotely, with a strong preference for in-person availability. Flexible scheduling makes this an ideal role for professionals seeking to supplement their work during afternoons, evenings, or weekends.
Key Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a New Hampshire school setting
- Active NH OPLC Occupational Therapist License required
- Current NBCOT certification
- Ability to deliver OT services in accordance with IEP mandates
- Preferred in-person availability; virtual service considered
- Excellent communication and time management skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide occupational therapy interventions tailored to individual student IEPs outside of regular school hours
- Collaborate with parents, guardians, and educational teams to schedule services that align with family needs
- Document interventions and progress according to district and state requirements
- Communicate regularly with educators and administrative staff to monitor and report on student progress
- Maintain compliance with state licensure, certification, and ethical standards
