Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting K-12 students across split campuses near Norwalk, CT. This full-time position offers you the chance to utilize your expertise in school-based occupational therapy while working with a diverse caseload, including students with emotional disturbance (ED), autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), oppositional defiant disorder (ODD), and learning disabilities (LD). The assignment begins as soon as possible and extends through June 7, 2027.
What You’ll Need:
- Active Connecticut Occupational Therapist (OT) license (required)
- Previous experience in a school-based OT setting preferred
- Comfort collaborating with teachers, staff, and special education teams
- Effective communication and organizational skills
- Capacity to manage a caseload ranging from approximately 15 to 35 students across elementary, middle, and high school populations
Position Highlights:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to students ages K-12 in two campus settings
- Assess, develop, and implement IEP goals tailored to individual student needs
- Provide direct and consultative OT interventions designed to support academic success and functional participation in the school environment
- Maintain thorough documentation of student progress and communicate regularly with educational teams and families
- Participate in eligibility and progress meetings as an integral member of the multidisciplinary support team
- Adapt interventions for a spectrum of disabilities and support positive student outcomes
