What You’ll Need to Succeed:
- Valid Occupational Therapy license for the state
- Experience or strong interest in working with pediatric populations (Pre-K to Grade 8)
- Expertise in developing interventions to address fine and gross motor skills
- Knowledge of early childhood and elementary school settings
- Ability to work effectively with students who have a variety of learning, sensory, and developmental differences
- Strong collaboration and communication abilities
- Familiarity with IEP processes and progress documentation
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Assess students individually to identify strengths and challenges in motor skills and daily function
- Develop and deliver evidence-based therapy plans, adapting activities for multiple age groups (Pre-K, K-5, middle school) as needed
- Provide direct therapy in classroom and small group settings
- Collaborate closely with teachers, families, and other school staff to support student progress and participation
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and contribute to IEP teams and meetings
- Serve as a resource on sensory, motor, and adaptive strategies for staff and parents
