About the Position
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our school-based team in Oakland, CA. The Occupational Therapist will provide evaluation, intervention, and consultation services to students with diverse educational and developmental needs, helping them achieve success in the classroom and school environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct occupational therapy evaluations and assessments.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with students' IEP goals.
- Provide direct and indirect occupational therapy services to students.
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, administrators, and families.
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions.
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports in compliance with state and district requirements.
- Recommend adaptive equipment, accommodations, and environmental modifications as needed.
- Support students' fine motor, sensory processing, self-regulation, visual-motor, and daily living skills within the educational setting.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Active California Occupational Therapist license.
- NBCOT certification required.
- Previous pediatric or school-based experience preferred.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of IDEA, IEP processes, and school-based service delivery models is preferred.
