Step into a key role providing occupational therapy services within a supportive school environment on a contract basis. This full-time opportunity runs from July 22, 2026, through May 28, 2027, with 37-40 hours scheduled across five days each week. You'll make a meaningful impact working with students ranging from pre-kindergarten (3K) through 12th grade, supporting a diverse range of ability levels. Your caseload may be drawn from multiple attendance areas, including Pageland, Chesterfield, Cheraw, Jefferson, and McBee.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Active and valid Occupational Therapist license for the state
- Previous experience in school-based OT settings, preferably across a broad age and ability range
- Strong skills in screening, evaluation, and delivering both direct and consultative OT services
- Ability to develop, implement, and track Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with teachers, families, and specialists
- Organizational skills to manage schedules across multiple locations as needed
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct screenings and comprehensive evaluations for students referred for occupational therapy
- Develop, write, and update IEPs using assessment data and team collaboration
- Deliver therapy sessions (individual and/or group) aligned with students’ educational goals
- Provide consultation and guidance to teachers, staff, and families to enhance students’ functional participation in school routines
- Maintain accurate records, progress notes, and compliance documentation
- Participate in IEP meetings and interdisciplinary staff discussions
