Occupational Therapist School Setting - Palatine, IL
Make a meaningful impact by providing Occupational Therapy services in a supportive school environment. This contract position offers a full-time schedule, working 37.5 hours per week across two sites with students ranging from kindergarten to eighth grade. You'll primarily support general education and resource classrooms, with some involvement in self-contained special education settings. Each workday is spent at a single campus, eliminating the need for mid-day travel.
This position is ideal for those who enjoy working with a variety of student needs and thrive in a collaborative school setting. Candidates with prior experience in pediatric or school-based Occupational Therapy are highly preferred. Sensory integration expertise and a strong foundation in goal-setting and progress monitoring will set you up for success in this role.
Qualifications:
- Active and valid Illinois license as an Occupational Therapist
- Experience working with pediatric or school-aged populations
- Background in sensory integration or prior service in educational settings
- Comfortable developing and tracking student goals and progression
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions to K-8 students
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and parents to address student needs
- Support students primarily in general education/resource classrooms, with occasional work in self-contained special education settings
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and participation
- Deliver services on-site according to the school calendar
