Occupational Therapist School Setting in Palmdale, CA

Take your expertise as an Occupational Therapist to a dynamic school-based setting supporting students from transitional kindergarten through sixth grade. This full-time, contract position offers the opportunity to make meaningful impacts on a diverse caseload while working alongside dedicated educators and support staff. The role runs until June 12, 2026, providing both stability and rewarding experience in a collaborative environment.
Key Qualifications & Experience Sought:
- California Occupational Therapist licensure in good standing
- Previous experience in school-based OT, home health, or teletherapy strongly preferred
- Comfort with pediatric caseloads, including ages TK-6th grade
- Strong assessment, documentation, and communication skills
- Ability to adapt therapy methods to a variety of student needs and educational settings
- Experience managing a caseload of approximately 55 students desirable
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct therapy services to students in groups and individually per IEP requirements
- Complete skilled assessments and collaborate on IEP goal development
- Partner closely with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary team members
- Maintain accurate and timely therapy notes, progress reports, and documentation
- Utilize creative clinical approaches tailored for school-based and remote/teletherapy platforms as needed
- Foster students’ functional skills and independence within the educational environment
This position provides consistent 40-hour workweeks, Monday through Friday, with a manageable daily schedule including a 30-minute lunch break. You’ll make a daily difference for students while advancing your clinical skills and professional growth in a supportive and innovative atmosphere.
