Occupational Therapist School Setting - Peterborough, NH
Make a real difference as a contract Occupational Therapist supporting exceptional student needs near Peterborough, NH. This rewarding opportunity involves providing Extended School Year (ESY) services, with the potential for a longer-term assignment through the 2026-2027 year. You’ll work one-on-one with a student attending a residential hospital in Hampstead, guiding them as they begin their OT journey in a supportive, collaborative environment.
This position offers dedicated time on Mondays and Fridays between 8:15 am and 2:30-3:00 pm, and calls for a professional who is adaptable, communicative, and compassionate. The student's OT sessions will start small as they acclimate, requiring sensitivity and adaptability to gradually increase service time. Close partnership with hospital staff is essential to tailor services and schedules to the student’s evolving needs.
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Valid New Hampshire OT license
- Strong background in school-based occupational therapy
- Demonstrated experience working in a 1:1 setting, preferably with students in residential or hospital placements
- Flexibility to adapt session length and approach as student needs evolve
- Skilled in building rapport and fostering student engagement
- Willingness to coordinate closely with an interdisciplinary team
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy focused on individual education and developmental goals
- Initiate and adjust session duration and activities to suit student readiness
