This contract position supports two schools, providing much-needed therapies to children from kindergarten through eighth grade, including those with Autism, developmental delays, and Down syndrome. You’ll complete evaluations, support students’ independence, and collaborate with a caring multi-disciplinary team.
Key Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Arizona Occupational Therapy License (required)
- Active Arizona fingerprint clearance card (required before starting)
- Experience working with school-age children preferred, especially with Autism Spectrum Disorder, developmental delays, and similar diagnoses
- Ability to manage a varied caseload and perform comprehensive school-based OT evaluations
- Strong communication skills and comfort collaborating with families, teachers, and other related service providers
- Independent worker, no COTA supervision required
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver OT assessments and interventions to K–8 students across two schools
- Address sensory, fine motor, self-care, and participation needs to help each student succeed
- Document progress, participate in IEP meetings, and develop individualized OT goals
- Engage in ongoing team meetings before and after school, as needed
- Maintain compliance with state educational and therapy regulations
