School Occupational Therapist - Racine, Wisconsin

Step into a vital role supporting elementary students as a contracted occupational therapist for a maternity leave assignment spanning from January through the end of the school year. This position offers the opportunity to make a positive impact across three elementary schools, working with a diverse student population and collaborating closely with educational teams.
Bring your expertise in school-based occupational therapy to an environment where your skills help children achieve greater independence and success in the classroom. You’ll manage a caseload of approximately 40 students, delivering direct therapy services, consulting with teachers and staff, and contributing to Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid licensure to practice occupational therapy in Wisconsin
- Master’s or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Experience or strong interest in school-based occupational therapy
- Familiarity with IEP processes and supporting documentation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to adapt to multiple school environments and manage an itinerant schedule
- Strong collaboration skills to work with teachers, families, and other professionals
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide assessments, develop and implement individualized treatment plans for students
- Deliver direct and consultative OT services as determined by IEPs
- Travel between three elementary schools within the district as needed
- Maintain thorough and timely documentation of services and student progress
- Participate in IEP meetings, contributing to goal-setting and progress reports
- Collaborate with educators and caregivers to support carryover of skills
