Position Overview
Sequoia Union High School District is seeking a qualified Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide school-based occupational therapy services to high school and post-secondary students. The OT will work collaboratively with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support students' participation, independence, and success within educational environments.
This position serves students receiving special education services and offers the opportunity to work alongside another Occupational Therapist in a collaborative caseload model.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct occupational therapy evaluations and assessments to determine student needs and eligibility for services.
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and objectives.
- Provide direct and indirect occupational therapy services to students.
- Address functional skills related to fine motor development, sensory processing, visual-motor integration, self-care, adaptive skills, and school participation.
- Recommend adaptive equipment, assistive technology, and environmental modifications as appropriate.
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents/guardians, and related service providers.
- Provide consultation and training to educational staff regarding accommodations and therapeutic strategies.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate service documentation and progress reports.
- Ensure compliance with IDEA, California Education Code, and district policies.
- Maintain confidentiality and professional standards in accordance with federal and state regulations.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must meet California requirements for school-based Occupational Therapists, including:
- Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited occupational therapy program.
- Current California Occupational Therapist License issued by the California Board of Occupational Therapy, or eligibility to obtain licensure.
- Graduation from an accredited OT program and successful completion of NBCOT certification requirements.
- Knowledge of special education regulations, IDEA, and the IEP process.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous school-based occupational therapy experience.
- Experience working with high school-aged students and transition-age youth.
- Familiarity with assistive technology and adaptive equipment.
- Experience supporting students with a variety of disabilities and educational needs.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
Additional Information
- Full-time position: 35 hours per week.
- NSY 2026–2027 assignment.

- Competitive compensation of $45.00–$55.00 per hour, based on experience.
