Occupational Therapist School Setting - Riverside, CA
Take the next step in your occupational therapy career with this dynamic contract opportunity supporting students across a range of ages and abilities in a school setting near Riverside, CA. Two full-time positions are available: one serving for a full school year and another providing maternity leave coverage likely beginning in August and ending in March.
Successful candidates will have a strong background in California school-based OT, and must feel confident working independently, as these roles require flexibility and self-direction. Expect a variable and ever-evolving caseload of K-12 students, including those with mild to severe disabilities. Your expertise in administering functional assessments (particularly the BOT-3 and Peabody) to a diverse student population will be invaluable in shaping student success. Being bilingual in Spanish is a plus, but not mandatory.
Key Qualifications:
- Active California OT license required
- Prior experience in California schools strongly preferred
- Proficiency in administering BOT-3 and Peabody assessments
- Demonstrated skill managing complex, fluctuating caseloads (ages 3-22, multiple disabilities)
- Ability to develop independent schedules and work autonomously in the field
- Strong data analysis and communication skills for parent consultation and service recommendations
- Comfortable with itinerant work across multiple schools
- Bilingual Spanish skills desirable (not required)
- COTAs/OTAs not eligible for these positions
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct OT assessments, consultations, and service delivery for students with varying needs
- Manage scheduling, documentation, and communications independently
- Collaborate as needed with educators and families to set and achieve student goals
- Clearly present data and recommendations to families and teams
