School Occupational Therapist | Riverside, California
An exciting opportunity awaits for a skilled Occupational Therapist to provide coverage for a maternity leave supporting students from preschool through 8th grade. This contract position runs ASAP through the end of the school year. Enjoy working school hours from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, following the district calendar, and serving a diverse student population across three schools—two elementary and one middle school.
In this role, you will manage a caseload of approximately 55 students, with valuable support from a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). This is an ideal chance to make a meaningful difference in students’ lives while collaborating with school staff and families.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Occupational Therapist (OT) license in California
- Experience in a school-based OT setting strongly preferred
- Ability to support students from preschool through middle school
- Strong organizational and time management skills to oversee a multi-campus caseload
- Excellent communication skills for working with students, staff, and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative OT services in alignment with IEP goals
- Develop, implement, and monitor therapeutic interventions and strategies
- Collaborate closely with teachers, support staff, and families to address students’ needs
- Maintain detailed and timely documentation of student progress and services
- Provide training and consult with staff as needed to support student access to the curriculum
- Supervise and coordinate with the assigned COTA to provide comprehensive care
