This assignment brings the advantage of exposure to diverse school environments and fresh leadership perspectives, broadening your professional repertoire. Each day, you'll engage with students aged 3-22 facing a wide range of mild to severe needs, giving you the chance to master new OT tools and approaches while expanding your resume.
Qualifications:
- Active California OT license
- Prior experience working in California schools
- Strong knowledge of administering BOT-3 and Peabody assessments for ages 3-22, including students with multiple disabilities
- Data-driven problem-solving skills to address parent concerns and optimize services
- Bilingual Spanish is a plus, but not required
- Must be comfortable making schedules independently and working autonomously across multiple sites
- Experience with PreK-adult transition students preferred
Responsibilities:
- Serve as an itinerant OT across 6 school sites for students aged 3-22
- Deliver direct therapy, consultations, and comprehensive assessments—caseloads fluctuate with student needs (generally 70-80 students)
- Support students with mild to severe disabilities, using data to advocate for appropriate services
- Maintain flexible, field-based service with minimal direct supervision
