School Occupational Therapist | San Bernardino, California
Step into a rewarding opportunity where your expertise as an Occupational Therapist can make a meaningful difference for K-8 students. Based near San Bernardino, this contract position provides a dynamic environment supporting schools during a leave, with the chance to work with a diverse caseload of 55-60 students across 2-4 sites. You'll have the support of a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) and collaborate closely with educational teams. The schedule runs Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with contracts arranged trimester by trimester until a permanent hire is made.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active California Occupational Therapy license
- Experience in school-based OT services, particularly K-8 settings
- Strong skills in writing and managing IEPs, documenting progress, and participating in IEP meetings
- Ability to effectively collaborate with staff, students, and families
- Adaptability to work across multiple locations with varying student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative OT services to K-8 students in line with their IEPs
- Develop, implement, and monitor progress on therapy goals
- Write thorough IEPs and document student progress according to district protocols
- Attend and actively contribute to IEP meetings
- Participate in events and initiatives at assigned school sites
- Work alongside COTA to coordinate and delegate tasks as needed
