Caseload: Approximately 35 students
Position Overview:
ProCare Therapy is seeking a qualified Occupational Therapist (OT) to join a supportive school team in the San Jose area for the 2026–2027 school year. This full-time, onsite position will initially provide maternity leave coverage, with a mid-August start date that will allow for an overlap of care and a smooth transition.
Following the return of the current OT from maternity leave, another OT team member is expected to begin maternity leave in mid-January. At that time, the selected OT will transition to a different set of schools within the San Jose area to provide continued occupational therapy support.
The initial caseload consists of approximately 35 students, including 32 students receiving direct services and 3 students receiving consultative services.
Responsibilities:
Provide occupational therapy evaluations, assessments, and treatment services appropriate to your credentials
Manage an initial caseload of approximately 35 students, including direct and consultative services
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with students' IEP goals
Provide occupational therapy services to students with a variety of special education needs
Support students with moderate/severe and mild/moderate support needs
Maintain accurate documentation, therapy notes, and progress reports
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, and related service providers to support student success
Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions, as appropriate
Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed
Transition to a different set of schools in the San Jose area following the initial maternity leave coverage period
Qualifications:
Active California Occupational Therapist license required
School-based occupational therapy experience required, either as a practicing OT or as a Level II OT Fieldwork student
Previous experience working with students with disabilities preferred
Experience supporting students with Autism and other special education eligibilities preferred
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
Passion for supporting student development, independence, and success
