Occupational Therapist School Setting in San Mateo, CA

Step into an opportunity to make a real difference as a school-based Occupational Therapist. This contract role, located in a vibrant community near San Mateo, CA, starts as soon as possible and extends through mid-March 2027. You’ll work with a diverse student caseload, ranging from 52 to 58 students, and enjoy a consistent 40-hour workweek, allowing you to truly connect with the individuals you serve.
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
- Current OT licensure and registration (California requirements)
- Experience in a school setting, supporting children and adolescents
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with staff, students, and families
- Ability to develop and implement individualized therapy plans
- Comfortable managing a dynamic caseload and adapting to changing needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide therapy services according to students’ IEPs
- Evaluate students’ abilities and recommend appropriate interventions
- Collaborate with educators, administrators, and families to maximize student success
- Maintain thorough documentation and progress reports
- Participate in IEP meetings, sharing insights and supporting customized strategies
- Assist in creating a positive, inclusive school environment focused on student growth
