An exciting opportunity is available for an Occupational Therapist seeking a contract position in a supportive educational setting starting early September and potentially lasting through the entire school year. Key Qualifications:
- Valid licensure and credentials to practice as an Occupational Therapist
- Previous experience in a school-based setting strongly preferred
- Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including COTAs, teachers, and administration
- Strong documentation and organizational skills, especially with managing caseloads
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet evolving student and program needs
- Compassion and a commitment to promoting functional independence among students
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy interventions to help students achieve educational goals
- Assess and monitor student progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
- Collaborate with the COTA to delegate tasks and provide guidance
- Maintain accurate, thorough records of services and student outcomes
- Consult with teachers and families to support carryover of strategies in the classroom and at home
- Attend or participate in team meetings and provide input on student plans
