Motivated occupational therapists are needed for a rewarding contract supporting students in a dynamic educational environment close to Santa Ana, CA. This full-time opportunity will have you working 40 hours per week, filling in for a leave of absence starting as soon as possible and continuing through December 1. This assignment is perfect for a professional eager to make a tangible impact on student learning and development within a supportive school-based setting.
Qualifications:
- Master’s or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Active California OT license
- Previous experience in a K-12 educational setting is highly desirable
- Understanding of the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process and documentation requirements
- Excellent communication skills with students, families, and school staff
- Ability to manage a caseload and adapt to changing demands in a school environment
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate students to determine individual OT needs and develop relevant intervention plans
- Deliver direct therapy services in alignment with IEP goals, using evidence-based approaches
- Collaborate with teachers and special education staff to support student access and participation in the classroom
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and progress notes
- Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings and contribute to IEP development and review
- Provide education and resources to families and school personnel to further student progress
