Make a meaningful impact supporting students as a school-based Occupational Therapist in the vibrant community near Schaumburg, IL. You'll work as part of an itinerant team, traveling between various elementary, middle, and high school sites within the district. This full-time contract position offers a varied schedule of 35-37.5 hours per week, allowing you to serve a diverse caseload of students ranging from Pre-K through age 22 (transition programs). Start making a difference as soon as possible, with the contract running through early June 2027.
Qualifications & Desired Experience
- Active clinical occupational therapy license from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
- Active educator license from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE)
- Previous experience in school-based OT settings is preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to adapt to multiple school environments and varying schedules
- Completion of fingerprinting and all time-sensitive credentialing prior to start
Key Responsibilities
- Provide occupational therapy services to students ages Pre-K to 22 according to Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals
- Assess students’ motor, sensory, and functional skills, and develop customized intervention plans
- Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student outcomes
- Maintain accurate records, documentation, and progress reports in compliance with district and legal requirements
- Flexibly travel between schools within the district as assigned
