Key Qualifications:
- Master’s or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Current Occupational Therapist license in Illinois (or eligibility)
- Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting strongly preferred
- Familiarity with IEP development and implementation
- Ability to effectively communicate with students, staff, and families
- Excellent time management, organization, and documentation skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide occupational therapy services to students according to their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Conduct assessments to identify students’ developmental and physical needs
- Collaborate closely with educators, parents, and other related service professionals
- Monitor, document, and report on student progress and therapy outcomes
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary planning
- Offer recommendations for classroom modifications and assistive equipment as needed
- Maintain compliance with school, state, and federal policies and regulations
