School Occupational Therapist | Trussville, Alabama
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students’ growth and functional success in a dynamic school environment! Occupational Therapists are needed to deliver high-quality therapy services from now through June 10th. With a minimum of 30 hours per week, you’ll enjoy a consistent caseload and the support of a collaborative network of fellow OTs in the district. Campus assignments are determined by factors such as proximity, area of interest, and school needs—offering a personalized placement within the district. This is a completely in-person (on-site) role with no remote or teletherapy options.
Key Qualifications:
- Hold current and valid Alabama Occupational Therapist certification or license; documentation required.
- Experience in educational or pediatric settings is preferred, with the ability to adapt OT interventions for school-aged children.
- Exceptional communication and collaborative skills for working with multidisciplinary teams and supporting teachers, staff, and families.
- Strong documentation and case management abilities.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide occupational therapy services to students in alignment with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Conduct assessments, develop goals, track progress, and adjust interventions for optimal student outcomes.
- Consult with teachers and other school staff to support student participation and success in the classroom.
- Liaise with families, providing updates and guidance to promote carryover of skills.
- Maintain compliance with all district, state, and federal documentation requirements.
