In this full-time contract position, you will collaborate closely with educators, families, and other specialists to assess student needs and deliver tailored therapy. Your expertise will help students build functional skills, access the curriculum, and participate fully in school life.
Qualifications:
- Active Connecticut Occupational Therapist (OT) license required
- Demonstrated experience in school-based OT, including assessments, direct intervention, and documentation
- Ability to travel between locations within the district as needed
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, working effectively with K–12 students, faculty, and families
- Commitment to professional ethics, student privacy, and equitable educational practices
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations and develop IEP goals to support student achievement
- Plan and execute individualized and group therapy sessions in accordance with IEPs
- Partner with teachers and staff to adapt classroom activities and promote student access to curriculum
- Complete thorough reporting and documentation for compliance and progress monitoring
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute expertise to multi-disciplinary teams
