Occupational Therapist School Setting in Waterbury, CT
Make a difference supporting students across multiple school sites in the Waterbury, CT area with this fulfilling onsite contract opportunity focused on Occupational Therapy. The position runs from late August through the end of November, offering 35 hours per week in a dynamic, supportive educational environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Occupational Therapist license in Connecticut (CT OT License required)
- Relevant experience in school-based OT or strong clinical background
- Ability to work onsite and travel between multiple school locations within the district
- Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills with school personnel, students, and families
- Adaptable and resourceful approach to providing therapy in diverse educational settings
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct occupational therapy services to a caseload of students, supporting their educational and developmental goals
- Collaborate with teachers, special education personnel, and other therapists to develop and implement effective intervention strategies
- Conduct assessments and create individualized treatment plans based on student needs
- Document session notes, progress updates, and data in accordance with school, district, and regulatory guidelines
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to team discussions on student progress and program planning
- Travel between assigned schools as needed to provide services where they are most needed
