The position primarily serves Thorne Elementary School within the district, with workdays following the school's operating hours of 8:35 AM to 3:38 PM.
As a valued resource, you will play a crucial role in helping students achieve their best outcomes through individualized therapy and tailored interventions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid Michigan licensure as an Occupational Therapist
- Prior experience in a school-based OT setting preferred
- Confident in working independently and collaboratively on a multidisciplinary team
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage a diverse caseload of elementary-aged children
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate students for occupational therapy needs and create individualized treatment plans
- Deliver direct and consultative therapy services in accordance with IEP goals
- Collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to promote student success
- Document assessments, progress, and all necessary compliance paperwork
- Support teachers with classroom modifications and adaptive strategies to accommodate students’ needs
