Key Qualifications:
- Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in California required
- Previous experience working in a school setting with children or adolescents
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with teachers, therapists, and families
- Ability to adapt and manage a varied caseload across different school campuses
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct therapy services to students according to individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Assist the occupational therapist with assessments, interventions, and ongoing evaluation of student needs
- Work across multiple school sites to address a diverse range of student abilities and challenges
- Document student progress and collaborate closely with educational staff to foster student success
- Participate actively in IEP meetings and help develop therapy goals that promote student independence and participation in school routines
